I haven’t tried out SEO Cockpit just yet, but am considering stacking it up against Market Samurai. I find that I can also locate some invaluable info just by tapping into the Google Keyword External tool and then checking out the sites who are at the top of the search queries.

SEO is not an overnight type deal. Your 2 spots are spot on because the focus is: targeting your market and serving the market with helpful content.
Yep, timeless. Never going out of style. All businesses are built on this concept. Serve what your peeps want, and make sure you find them – keywords.
Serve good stuff, stuff that is useful to your market – content. Keep serving. All successes fail miserably. I have. All people do…but we stick with it. We write articles daily. We serve value. We keep showing up, knowing those who keep at it, get it, and the getting is super sweet.
One note: stick with SEO, with each post. My gravest mistake has been moving away from SEO for extended periods. My audience got confused and either left, or stuck around and never took my calls to action. So my list was in limbo, because my target market was never present.
All my fault, of course. Now I know. SEO is the mantra. Stick with it, target your market, keep serving juicy, tasty content and you will be generously served, too.
