Social networking has been a very great tool to market someone’s business. With its overwhelming number of users accessing it everyday, it is a great traffic source. The social networking site with probably the most popular and most number of users of all time is Facebook. Even 7 and 65-year olds have their own Facebook account (My newborn son has his account setup when he’s 1 month old). That is why using Facebook for businesses purposes is excellent.
Facebook for businesses
Facebook is not just a social networking site to keep updates with far-away friends. It can also be used as a business too. Using Facebook for businesses is a great way to build reputation, market brand, connect with potential customers and create a community.
How to Use Facebook for Businesses Successfully
I have three steps on how to effectively use Facebook for businesses. And I will further discuss it below. Keep reading.
Facebook for Businesses Step 1 – Regulate profile
It is highly suggested that you create separate account in Facebook for businesses purposes. But if you do not want signing in and out everytime, you can create a fan page for your business (Learn more about it here.), or you edit privacy settings in your account. Create lists for family, friends and business contacts so that it will be easier for you to filter which list could see/not see certain posts. You should also fill out everything in your profile, especially the contact details, to establish trust. Install right applications to integrate Facebook with your blog, Twitter and other social media sites. It is also recommended that you put opt-in email box for your Facebook friends/fans to sign up if they want instant updates from you.
Facebook for Businesses Step 2 – Connect with others
Once you have fully setup your account or fan page in Facebook for businesses purposes, you change the URL of it into your real name or business name. For example, if your personal name is Rick Lee and your business’ name is RL Fashion Shoes Co, you may name your URL as follow: RickLee, RLFashionShoesCo, or RickLeeFashionShoesCo. By this, it would be easier for people to find you. Also, add your Facebook URL to your business card. Also, if you are posting on other sites, do not forget to put these in your contact information or in every end of your posts so that if they want to know you better, they can just go there. Find experts relevant to your field and share ideas with them. Also find your target audience in Facebook and connect with them.
Facebook for Businesses Step 3 – Create a community group
Add your target audience to your group so that it will be easier for you to disseminate information such as meetings, webinars, conferences and product information. Also, join other groups which are related to your business and connect with them as well to further expand your community.
