Few are mindful to do twitter the right way. Add value, lighten up, stay on topic most of the time, get followers.
I add on average 10 to 20 a day by sticking to these strategies. I stay on topic, the followers are targeted. I move off topic, the followers care not too much about what I have to say.
Have fun! Tweet casual stuff and chat up your buds. I have a decent following by engaging, thanking my RTers and chatting people up because social media means being social, not a 1 way broadcaster.
Another thing: scrap the auto DMs. Most are on to this 1 because they are another form of spam. Shake my virtual hand with a personalized note, OK? Then, you might have a loyal follower.
