I was 24 and single. A programmer by profession and a slacker by nature. :)
My daily routine since graduation is simply waking up, working, playing computer games, and sleep. I literally spend ALL my available time playing games, except the one I developed at work… (I used to work in a game company)
I told my family and friends that I would be single for the rest of my life. Truth is, I didn’t have the courage to date anyone…
Until I met my wife.
I snapped. I did something I never thought I’d ever do. I took Massive Action… and what do you think that got me?
Fast Forward to 28, something fantastic happened in my life. :)
With this new bundle of joy, I also noticed a disturbing trend in my bank account. My cashflow started going in the negative. This remained for a few months while my daughter is in infantcare and having to be rushed frequently to the paediatrician and hospital for her medical condition.
And my wife wanted 3 kids…
Now, I am not someone who will simply resign to my fate. Instead of saying we can’t afford to have 3 kids, my mind started thinking… how can we afford to have 3 kids? How can we afford to send all of them to university, having enough money for our own retirement and the healthcare that comes after that?
I did a detailed calculation the amount of money needed before I can retire. It was then I realised inflation, job security, education cost, health care cost are all going to stack against me. I won’t be able to retire until I die, unless I took Massive Action.
My goals in life completely changed. It is no longer about me, but about my family. I could no longer afford to goof around.
This was when I started my entrepreneurial journey. I started reading TONS of personal development, investment and business books. I paid to attend seminars hoping to find a solution to my problem. I went to networking session to find business opportunity. I took my education and my desire for success very seriously. After dinner, I would always be reading books, increasing my knowledge and learning new things.
“The Business of the 21st Century” by Robert Kiyosaki completely changed my perception of network marketing industry. I always felt network marketing was scammy, but this book caused me to become more open-minded to the industry.
Through a networking session, I found a multi-millionaire who is doing extremely successful in a network marketing company he just joined. 3 months in the company and he’s already getting 5 figures. His immediate downline is achieving 4k to 5k+ on their very first month.
I joined and did what I was told to do. I made a list. I called my warm market.
Before I knew it, my friends started avoiding me. It felt terrible. I decided I will never again lose my friends over my business. I will no longer build walls around them.
I started searching for an alternative in the internet. I paid tons of money on many things just to get closer to success. I studied and mastered the home based business industry under the paid mentorship of extremely successful coaches. I learnt a very simple concept that nearly everyone in the home-based business industry has overlooked.
I took action and immediately applied the teachings and success started coming in a very short period of time. For the first time in my life, I see a light at the end of the tunnel (And it’s not a train). I no longer have to approach strangers but instead have them contacting me asking for my help, wanting to find out more about me and my opportunity.
I am now achieving my desire for time freedom doing the things I love. And it all begins… with 1 step at a time.
