And by the end of this, I promise that you will learn so much on marketing on forums.

Forum Marketing

Forum marketing– Overview

Forum marketing is one of the best ways to make your online business stand out.  Many people in forum marketing are internet savvy and are experts in their own field. That is why forums are the best places to market your brand or product. Also, in forum marketing, you can make a good head start by impressing these experts and savvy people. And as a result, your message can go far through them. Now, how are we going to make our forum marketing effective and sales generating?

Below is the guide of the things to do and not to do when forum marketing.

The Do’s in forum marketing

The things to know and remember when doing forum marketing

  • Join a forum that has a good amount of traffic. This way, you can be assured that you get a good number of audiences. Of course, why would you go on a forum where nobody visits, right?  Also, the forum/s you join must be of the same niche as yours. We do not join in a community that is interested in sports when what we advertise is about fashion. There is a lesser chance to find your leads there. SO, why waste time?
  • Always check the rules and regulations of the forum site. Do they allow users to post backlinks to their sites? Do they allow users to advertise their business? Do they allow users to contact other members for business purposes? If so, then that site is good for forum marketing.
  • Pick a good username and avatar. Your username must be easy to read and remember. Having username which is weird and complicated to read gives bad impression to other members.  Using your real name is also good. For avatars, a good close up picture of your or cute picture of your kids or pets are also idea. Avoid avatars that create controversy or are offensive.
  • There is a signature box where you can post links and promote your website. Create a catchy phrase that generates curiousity enough for people to click on it.
  • The key to forum marketing is to create value. Participate and post valuable information. You can also create a new topics to make it at the top. If you create an interesting or controversial topic, people tend to participate and bump your topic at the top for a while.
  • Be consistent and patient in conversing with other members. Once you have joined a forum, do not expect to have your leads flooding your email by the coming week. You need to work it out for some time. I would suggest you commit to forum marketing for 6 weeks and then review results. Always make the community feel that you exist and you are always open to build friendship and help them with whatever they are dealing with. Once you have built relationships with the community, they will eventually know about you and your business, and may even end up to be your customers.

The Don’ts in forum marketing

The things to avoid when you are marketing on forums

  • Do not spam about your website. The truth is nobody cares, and spamming just destroyed your credibility.
  • Don’t be the know-it-all type. Yes, in forums, most people are really experts but you do not have to sound boastful and too confident. Respect other people’s point of views and suggestions. Also, if you have nothing good to say, better not say it as it will only bring negative image about you and your brand.

Remember these do’s and don’ts in forum marketing and I assure you that you will get your ROI in time.
